'Tendring
Community Voluntary Services' is run by
the local community to support, promote
and develop voluntary and community
action.
This can
be as simple as holding network
breakfasts, or drop in coffee mornings
to help build community links, or
organising fundraising events such as
the ever popular Annual Victorian
Christmas Market.
Through
our resource centre in central Clacton
we also offer advice and information,
regular newsletters packed with charity
information, beach hut hire, volunteer
training, and also two
Meeting Rooms available
to hire at reasonable rates to local
groups.

As
a registered charity, we are run by voluntary
groups for voluntary groups. The organisation
has five core functions: services and
support for local community groups;
liaison and enabling; representation;
and strategic development.
Tendring CVS exists to promote and develop the
effectiveness of voluntary and community action
by:
l
Providing support to groups such as information,
advice and training.
l
Identifying needs and developing new initiatives
to meet them.
l
Promoting partnership between the statutory and
voluntary sectors in the delivery of services
l
Supporting innovation, accountability and good
practice in local services.
l
Encouraging organisations to put forward their
views on local and national policies and
decisions.
l
Creating and promoting channels used by
government and other bodies to consult the
community.
l We
provide this support in a special way and with
particular values: we work with individuals and
groups, and with communities in a flexible, open
way and challenging inequality and promoting
diversity. |
