ENRICHING THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR OLDER PEOPLE
We offer the help of volunteer befrienders to older people within North-East Essex who are lonely or isolated, and in need of support and friendship.

A BEFRIENDER CAN OFFER:

  • Personal interest caring and support
  • A Reassuring voice and sympathetic ear
  • Time to share a cup of tea and a chat
  • Assistance with correspondence and bills
  • Support on Doctors and Hospital appointments
  • Companionship for occasional shopping or social trips
 If you feel in need of friendship and support, or you know someone else who does, please contact us by telephoning or writing to either of the addresses below.

We will then be happy to make a visit, and if appropriate, a volunteer befriender will be introduced.

the scheme is independent of statutory, private and other voluntary organisations which provide services in this area.

all information shared between the partner and their befriender is confidential.

this organisation is funded by the national lotteries charities board.

this scheme will be maintained by grants, donations and bequests.

THIS SERVICE IS FREE OF CHARGE.
