Rotary Club of Clacton-on-Sea

    COMMUNITY SERVICE

Our Club has been very active over the Christmas period.  The Grotto in the town centre proved very popular once again with the Street collections providing much needed funds for the Christmas Meals for the Elderly and disadvantaged, held as usual at the Clacton County High School on Christmas Day.  We also provided "goody bags" for the Meals on Wheels recipients on Christmas Day.  These parcels included cards and calendars made by our local schoolchildren.

The Community Carol Service was also well attended proving it's popularity has not waived.

Earlier last summer we again supported the Carnival Fete and manned a toy stall in the Town Centre for the Street Fayre following the Air Show.

Our main fundraising effort this year will be the Centenary Cabaret Evening, when we hope to raise money for two local charity groups- Alzheimer's Society and Parkinson's Society. Full information on our Events page.

We will also be supporting other local groups and charities - more news later.

Rotary is primarily a service organisation and is looking to provide practical help to our Community whenever possible.
