One of the roles of Rotary is to provide care and service throughout the world.

We are still providing support for a Children's orphanage in Namyslow, Poland, with regular contact visits from Club members and family.  We are also arranging a visit to another orphanage in Krasne, Poland to provide some much needed help.  This is a project in conjunction with the Tendring Explorer Scouts.  See the link below for more information.

We are also supporting Haven In Romania, bringing much needed aid to deprived people in that country.

Hope and Homes is another of our supported projects, which gives hope to children who have lost their parents through war, AIDS, etc. in third world countries.

With wonderful support from the residents of the town we raised £45,295.72 for the Tsunami Appeal.  The money was spent on the purchase of  171 Aquabox 30's @ £250  each, 46 fillable aquaboxes @ £50  each with the balance of £ 245.72  spent on items to fill the latter. Thank you all for the wonderful support. The appeal is now closed.

Rotary's own charity is Foundation.  This has many functions in encouraging international aid and understanding between nations,  Students are funded to spend time in another countries' university known as student exchange scheme. Groups of young business people also visit other countries to learn and experience life and work there.  Aid is given to provide many forms of aid to third world countries, providing clean drinking water, artificial limbs, plus many other projects.  Our main thrust  has been the elimination of Polio which we hope to achieve this year.
